This five day skills training programme covers three days of theoretical classroom training and two days of practical workshop application. The programme focusses on key trade skills expected from a Handyman and prepares him / her for a professional maintenance service that is client focussed.
The focus is on general, civil, construction and electrical maintenance and includes a “mentor” pack of activities to be performed in the workplace. The delegate is required to complete a portfolio of evidence for competency sign off.
This training programme is aligned to unit standards and we are awaiting final SSETA approval.
Delegates will gain a knowledge and understand the practical application of:
> Managing expenditure against a budget
> Provide customer service excellence by determining the client requirements and dealing with customer complaints in a professional manner
> Apply health and safety to a work area
> How to inspect and use hand tools
> Handling of various materials
> First line general maintenance of air-conditioners
> First line civil and construction maintenance
> First line electrical maintenance
